Long time, but more running.

It's time. Time to run this blog once again. Just some recaps:

  1. Middle School XC Team: No trophies, no titles, no records broken, but hearts were molded, minds we crafted, and soles made a thunderious roar. By the end of the season, I had three puke, a few tears, two quit, but 26 remained and took all the pain and gains I threw at them. After comparing my racers times from all their meets to the times they ran the year before, my runners shaved off an average of 2-3minutes. MINUTES! I must be doing something right ;) Oh! And by the way, no injuries, not one. And we never did static stretches, only after practice did we throw a few quad stretches. Dynamic stretches are the way and... setting aside the constant complaints of typical running pains.
  2. Next stop: I waved goodbye to the team and set out to Cali for my Air Force career to take off. I ran up and down beaches, sweat through the heat, and competed in a track meet. It went okay.... not my best but certainly not my worst. A 2:22 800m. Considering I trained and prepped by myself, gotta admit, not half bad ;) Overall it was wonderful smelling that track, being surrounded by other fellow psycho runners, and having them eat my dust. God I miss it.
  3. Today: Still running, but in the plains and mountains of Montana. I and another Lieutenant are training for a 5k - 10k - 1/2 Marathon - and finally a full Marathon goal. The training and new scenery have been a breath of fresh air. Running with someone is SO much easier than sucking it up yourself. I've been doing 2-a-days for a couple weeks now and I have never felt stronger. I'll hit up my distance run before I meet up with the Lt, and then once I get with him I'll set him up for his workout, coast through it with him while he's gasping for air beside me, lift after, and then finally crumble on my couch before dinner. It's been rough, but so totally worth it, because I'm not doing this alone or for myself, I'm doing it for that guy sucking the bag beside me. So, come join me ;)
So that's been me, never stopped chugging these feet to the next adventure and I hope you can say the same for yourself. Get out there, find and gasp that runners high, even if it is just for a second. Live for it, dream for it, and challenge yourself. I'm there for you, to suck the bag, to grit my teeth as the shin splints kick it, to be the voice that laughs and smiles at the miles ahead. You got this, I know you do. Sunday is tomorrow and that means adventure. Go for a hike, a bike ride, a dip at the beach, shake those legs out for the the next 6 days ahead of non-stop running. Because Monday is coming, and it's time trial day! Set the bar and get ready to laugh at that when the challenge comes again! I've been gone from the blog for sometime, but I have been out there living, eating, and breathing running everyday of my life, even on the few days I don't get my running kicks in, I can't stop but think about when fun run I can plan next. The time is now, if you wanna be faster, run farther, be stronger, I got the tools, but you gotta be prepared to take them and use them. Only you can transform into the superhero you wanna be. Unleash the Annie-mal.
